What's worse than...

xrays, a spinal tap, blood and urine tests and a stay at the hospital?

Well, my answer to that is that there is much worse than a battery of tests and a few overnights in isolation.

We are so thankful it appears that all Whitaker has is a virus that caused a high fever which led us to bring him in.
We are thankful to have Mom and Dad watch the other kids so Simon and I can both be at the hospital.

We are thankful for the care we've received here (Of course you know I did have to have a moment of ranting about the overuse of antibiotics and the constant flow of nurses coming in and out at all hours which prevents me from getting much sleep.)

Heck, I'm even thankful for the hospital food. Well, sort of... :)

Hopefully, once all the cultures come back negative we will be able to take him home. Maybe tomorrow?? His fever was back to normal this morning (98.9), but is back over 100 degrees right now so we're just hanging out and loving on him.

I'll keep everyone updated.

Hi there, I found your blog via Kelli's. I am praying for you guys. I know how scary this can be and all the procedures can seem overwhelming. My son was born with a blood infection and spent two weeks in the NICU. Nine weeks later he was back in the hospital for more tests, spinal taps, etcetera. No fun for anyone, but there is HOPE!!! Jesus is the great physician and I know he is holding Whitaker right now!
p.s. Love the name Whitaker!

Oh poor Whitaker!!! I remember with Nora they did all that (3 spinal taps!!!) and in the end, deemed it an unidentifiable virus. At least you had Simon there with you!
