Do you know why Jesus came?

Quiz time:

Why did Jesus say he came into this world?

A. to save us

B. to be a good role model

C. to fulfill prophecy

ohhh, this is good guys. Out of his own mouth this is what He said,

John 18:37

Therefore Pilate said to Him, "So You are a king?" Jesus answered, "You say correctly that I am a king. For this I have been born, and for this I have come into the world, to testify to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice."

That's right! He came to testify to the truth!

Can you believe that "truth" is mentioned over 75 times in the gospels when talking about Jesus' ministry? Do you think that this "truth" is important? Why have I missed this central concept? Oh that I would know His truth from the world's lies!

I'm so excited that we just started The Truth Project. I want to challenge what I say I believe. This is not a course in how-you-can-know-the-truth-so-you-can-judge-others or a course on I'm-right-you're wrong. We are taking God's Word and His claims and putting them up against what the world tells us. Do you know that for every truth He has given us, the world speaks to it in opposition?

There are so many great examples and I cannot wait as we examine them all in the upcoming weeks.

I want to do this!!! Why can't someone facilitate this here? Are you doing this with the Vineyard?

Yes, we're doing this at church. Simon had to ask that it be brought there. You can get all the info on the truthproject's website. it doesn't have to be large-scale either. In fact, it's preferred that it's done in a small group in someone's home.
